This piece reminds me of the long-legged light blue cabinet I painted a few months ago, just a bit larger. I love pieces like this and after contemplating the color for a while, (it was between blue and green) I went blue. Milk paint was my medium of choice, and like I’ve been doing lately, I painted it so there is lots of variation in the finish. Lighter and darker blues come through as well the the rich wood underneath. The edges are lightly distressed, there is some chipping on the door trim and the color is offset with ivory hardware.

Old Fashioned Milk Paint in Soldier Blue!
Gorgeous! And I love that you left the inside alone. Sometimes a pop of color inside is nice, but this looks so refreshing stained.
Gorgeous color – is it ASCP in Aubusson with a dark wax? Stunning makeover! It caught my eye over at the Inspiration Exchange Party. You are definitely on my Must Follow list!

Is there an entry on your blog where you describe how exactly you achieved this finish? It looks like you layered a darker paint underneath? Can you talk more about that?
