This beauty is one of my favorites which is mainly due to the fact that she’s a spinet desk. I love the versatility of these pieces, and those legs! These antiques I usually leave alone (I have a dark wood one myself that is safe from the paint bush), but this one needed some love. A nice neutral black makes her an easy piece to fit into any room, and that pop of color inside makes her extra special. I almost went with a light blue inside, but this pretty salmon is a nice warm color that pairs great with the black. She is sealed with one coat of poly and one coat of wax for added durability.

I have a near-identical desk. I want to paint the cubbies but refinish the rest… It is such a treasure! and it is in excellent condition. There are very few of these out there in Pinterest land so I was happy to see your creation. I like your choice of black paint. My desk is stained very very dark so black keeps it looking very authentic. Love your work and now following on Bloglovin'

Love this piece! I am trying to muster up the courage to paint my first piece of furniture with milk paint. Your website is a true inspiration. Thank you for sharing your gift. What brand paint did you use? I am in NJ and unfortunately Milk Paint is not readily available.
Reeves @ The Weathered Door says
I used milk paint from The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co.
