I love writing desks, and after finishing the Smokey Blue Writing Desk, I have had an eye out incase I find any others… and I found a simple one at an estate sale.
This one does not have as much character because of its straight lines, but it is still a fun piece that can be a desk, small table and even an oversized bedside table. I used a dark grey oops paint sample pot from Lowes to paint in. Before painting, it was sanded with an electric sander uing 150 grit sandpaper and wiped down. I used two coats of paint and then let is dry over night. The next day I distressed the edges with 150 grit sandpaper and hand sanded everything with 220 to really give it a smooth finish and sealed it with wax. I really love grey and mustard, so I used this gorgeous mustard pull that I have also used on this dresser.

Love the dark gray and mustard combination! And that desk is a sweet size – perfect next to a bed!

I love those two colors together! Now I am inspired to paint something gray too!…and put a mustard-colored pull on it, of course. 😉
