I have been stockpiling mountains of furniture in the garage. I’m so excited to make them over, so I thought I would give a sneak peak of a few.
Campaign Dresser and Desk: I got these off of craigslist over a month ago. The hardware is coolest part of this style of furniture. I have started the desk, but not the dresser. The brass corners have been painted over, so they have to be stripped of the paint. It has proven difficult to take these off and get them looking good again.
Not the best paint job I have ever seen. Lots of sanding…
Butterfly Table: This one is a project I got at an auction. My mom sanded it down and stained the top, but I might end up painting the bottom. The table opens up and has an extra leaf that is hidden inside when it is not being used. We think it would be a great desk.
Wicker Egg Chairs: I got two of these at an estate sale this last weekend. The legs/bottom frame is metal. I want to spray them both a grey color, then get faux sheepskin from Ikea.
Tall Antique Dresser: This dresser was found on craigslist, then was picked up from a garage sale. I also got the matching low dresser, but they both had different hardware. You can see the transformation of the low dresser here. This tall one needs some work before I can paint it. The top needs to be nailed on and the bottom needs to be nailed as well.
Tufted Wicker Chair: When my mom and I went to get the dressers (above) this chair was in the garage sale. My mom really wanted it. She has her own projects and does not need it, but I did a bundle and got a good deal for all three pieces.
Wicker Chair: This is a chair I have had in my bedroom for over 2 years now. We re-stained it when I got it (from craigslist), but it needs to be reupholstered. I have never found the right fabric and it has been neglected. The other chair has me wanting to work on this one. The fabric does not look bad in the picture, but it is dirty, faded and has some spots from when it was stained.
French Provincial Nightstands: My mom picked these up for me from the thrift store. I have two that match, and have someone who wants to purchase them. They are getting some coats of grey paint.
Another Campaign Dresser: This one I found the other night at the thrift store. Two best things: the brass corners have not been painted over and it was an awesome deal! The handles are different, but still campaign style.
Dresser with Turned Legs: This one came from… craigslist! as usual. My dad went and picked this up for me today since he was going to be close by. I have started sanding it (the top was already sanded) and would paint it right now, but it is too late… and I have school tomorrow so it will be saved for the weekend. Flash or no flash. You choose.
That’s really only half of what is in the garage. I still have another tall dresser, two cabinets, nightstands, table and chairs, matching chrome chairs, and coffee table and other things that I can’t even think of. It’s an overload, but I like it!
