This weekend I found multiple pieces at garages sales. I really was not looking for anything specific, but I found a lot of great things! One of those was this sofa table that could also work as a writing desk or entry piece. The orange pine needed to go, but it was inexpensive and had great potential.
I got a few more pints of other milk paint colors from General Finishes. One the colors was Persian Blue and it got used on this desk. The whole piece got sanded – the top with the electric sander and the rest by hand. I then used 3 thin coats of the paint. I’ve said it before, but I love the consistency of this paint and the finish of it. It is a flatter finish but insanely smooth – I just love it!
I had tried to do the dipped leg look. But after 3 different attempts I gave up and just went simple with it because none of the colors I chose were looking quite right. Once everything had dried and cured I sealed it with clear wax. To finish off the new, less orange look, I added knobs to the drawers. Now this is the perfect beach style desk or sofa table!
Disclosure: General Finishes did send me the milk paint free of charge, but all opinions are my own.

Always done by hand! I just paint with brush, never invested in a sprayer. I really like the look and thought of hand painted pieces though 😉
