I love writing desks, so when I found this one at a local sale, I snatched it right up and knew I had to paint it in my current favorite color 🙂
I did the usual prep work that comes along with a piece: removed the hardware, filled the holes (3 times), sanded the whole piece, vacuumed and wiped it down, then painted. I used OFMP in a custom mixed color for the outside, it is a really pretty brown-grey color, and the inside portion where the middle opens is painted in General Finishes Milk Paint in the color Persian Blue. To finish it off I drilled new holes and added these octagon, white milk glass knobs from D. Lawless. It still has it’s vintage flair, but with a more modern finish and style 🙂
